There She Stands
Written on June 30, 2026
Last week I shared about a moment of self-recognition. A spur-of-the-moment photograph revealed a version of me that I recognized deeply. That moment of self-recognition was the initial domino in several moments of self-recognition that occurred after that.
As the Full Moon in Capricorn approached I started considering what the last six months have been about for me. I play the long game with lunar cycles, frequently observing that a fresh idea that comes with a New Moon typically becomes an embodied practice 6 months later when we arrive at the Full Moon in the same sign.
Capricorn rules my 2nd house of material wealth, possessions, values, and self-worth. I pondered what had become embodied in this area over the last 6 months.
Values.
My personal values.
Looking back, I realize I've spent much of my life holding up a mirror. Not to judge people, but because I instinctively noticed whether words matched actions, communication was open and clear, and whether people took responsibility for what was theirs.
I've bumped into people and situations time and time again where these issues were constantly coming up. Things just felt wrong or misaligned. I didn't always fully understand or have the language for why those things mattered to me so much. Now I do.
These are the values I live by. I've always operated with these values. I just hadn't articulated them to myself or others quite so clearly in the past.
INTEGRITY
Say what you mean. And mean what you say.
Let your actions match your words.
Be the person you say you are.
COMMUNICATION
Maintain open and clear communication.
Keep me connected to your reality.
I don't know what you don't tell me.
RADICAL RESPONSIBILITY
I am 100% responsible for my choices, words, and actions.
I expect you to be 100% responsible for yours.
Own what is yours.
I now understand very clearly why I've struggled with many relationships, business and personal. I've also realized that not everyone prioritizes these values in the same way I do. Many people would say these values are important, but I've learned that what matters most to me is whether they're consistently lived.
Now that I have clearly identified this for myself, it feels much easier to move forward with relationships, business or personal, new or old. I will articulate my values clearly (communication!). If I bump into an issue I can easily identify which one of these values is feeling misaligned, have a conversation about it, and move forward in the best way for myself.
Under the Full Moon in Capricorn, I understand the foundational values I stand on in a much clearer, more embodied way that will carry me through the rest of my life.
Last week a photo revealed self-recognition of my essence. It said, “There she is.”
This week the Full Moon revealed the values I live by. It said, “There she stands."
